The necklace composed of 30 jadeite beads measuring approximately 14.1 to 13.9 mm, the clasp and side plaques of geometric design set with old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 7.25 carats, length 22 inches, signed Cartier Paris, partially numbered _2248, with French assay and partial workshop marks; together with a pair of earrings set with two jadeite beads measuring approximately 13.8 mm each, framed and accented by baguette, old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.40 carats, with later-added tops, signed Cartier; circa 1925.

Condition

Both pieces in good condition overall. NECKLACE: The beads are a medium slightly milky bluish green color and are semi-opaque, with evidence of color mottling throughout. Fitted with safety closure. The diamonds are approximately G-I color, VS-SI clarity. EARRINGS: The jadeite displays a medium very slightly bluish green color and minor to moderate color mottling. The diamonds are approximately G-I color, predominantly VS clarity. The drops from the earrings are later added by Cartier. Sold at Sotheby's NY December 9th, 2008, lot 324: Property From a Noble Family. With a signed pouch. The necklace accompanied by GIA report no. 1162685920 stating that five beads tested at random are jadeite jade, natural color, with no indications of impregnation. The earrings accompanied by GIA report no. 5161682007 stating that the jadeite jade is of natural color, with no indications of impregnation.
