Description

  • gold
Featuring six Imperial Roman gold coins bordered by gold chains spaced by cylinder-shaped links, gross weight approximately 102 dwts, length 7¾; circa 1860.

Condition

In good condition overall, especially considering age. Some discoloration to the coin bezels, 5 of the 6 coins are loose in their mountings, but stable. Gentle scratching and patina to the gold and some porosity on one of the clasps. Hefty and flexible. Fitted with a safety chain. Obscured French import mark on tongue of clasp. Possibly the work of Ernest Pierret.
