Important sapphire and diamond ring, M. Gérard

The cushion-shaped sapphire weighing 35.94 carats, set between two oval diamonds, signed M. Gérard, numbered, French assay mark, size 51^1/2.

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 76764 and Gübelin report no. 9912066, dated 21 December 1999, each stating that the sapphire is of Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating, the SSEF report also stating 'royal blue' colour. Signed M. Gérard, numbered 1249. Stamped with French assay mark and 750 for 18 carat gold, mounted in yellow gold. Sapphire with typical inclusions, some small nicks and abrasions; for further information please refer to the reports. Diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 1.10 and 1.20 carats (depth very difficult to measure), G-H colour and VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mounting. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 16 grams.
