The front set with a step-cut sapphire stated to weigh 16.07 carats, on a necklace highlighted with calibré-cut rubies and brilliant-cut and baguette diamonds, signed A. Reza, French assay and maker's marks, inner circumference 365mm.

Condition

Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US. This piece contains rubies of Burmese origin and therefore cannot be imported into the US. Please contact the jewellery department for further information or see our Important Notices. Accompanied by Gübelin report no. 1005016, dated 1 June 2010, stating that the 16.07 carat sapphire, measuring approximately 16.60 x 11.70 x 8.15 mm, is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating, and that one hundred and thirty-four of the red gemstones have been randomly tested and identified as mostly unheated Burmese rubies. Signed A. REZA on the reverse of the sapphire mounting, maker's marks on the clasp. Stamped with French assay mark and OR 750 for 18 carat gold. Clasp engraved RB 28.61 (indicating the total weight of the rubies), DB 25.85 (indicating the total weight of the diamond baguettes) and B 3.73 (indicating the total weight of the round brilliant-cut diamonds), also engraved S. 16.07 on reverse of sapphire mount (indicating the weight of the sapphire). Sapphire with very few inclusions and very minor nicks and abrasions; for further information please refer to the Gübelin report. Rubies overall well matched in colour, a few nicks and abrasions. Diamonds on average G-H colour, VS clarity. Clasp secure, safety latch below. Signs of little to normal wear to the metal, few scratches consistent with use. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 97 grams.
