Emerald, ruby, mother-of-pearl and diamond brooch, 'New Khandy', Cartier

Designed as a parrot on a branch set with brilliant-cut diamonds, polished mother-of-pearl, calibré-, circular-cut and carved emeralds and rubies, suspending a drop-shaped emerald weighing 11.55 carats, signed Cartier, numbered, French assay and maker's marks, case signed Cartier.

Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US; this piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Accompanied by SSEF report no. 82022, stating that the drop-shaped emerald is of Zambian origin, with a minor amount of oil in fissures, together with a Cartier certificate of authenticity. Signed Cartier, numbered 70499B. Stamped Pt 950 for platinum. French assay and maker's marks. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 14.00 - 17.00 carats, bright and lively. Rubies and emeralds well matched in colour, of medium strong saturation, very few crystal inclusions; for more information on the emerald drop please refer to the gemmological report. Mother-of pearl in excellent condition. Sliding safety catch. Very few signs of wear to the metal. In excellent condition. Gross weight approximately 69 grams.
