Maroquin vert lierre, encadrement d'un listel de maroquin marron Art nouveau, avec fleurettes mosaïquées aux angles, dos mosaïqué de même, avec ex-libris frappé en pied, encadrement intérieur de maroquin vert avec filets dorés et même décor que sur les plats, doublure et gardes de soie brochée, tranches dorées sur témoins, couverture (Marius Michel).
Faux-titre détaché, dos passé et frotté, restauration à la coiffe supérieure.
Aquarelles de Henri Gervex reproduites en couleurs en héliogravure, dont 30 hors texte.

Exemplaire enrichi de 2 dessins originaux de Gervex : le premier (aquarelle et mine de plomb, 228 x 128 mm, sur papier bleuté, signé) a servi à l'illustration (pl. en face de la p. 26), et le second (aquarelle rehaussée à la gouache, 225 x 148 mm, monogrammé HG) porte un envoi : "A mon ami Arthur Meyer".
