  •  circa 1965
  • 14 x 23.5 cm., 5 ½ x 9 ¼ in.

Catalogue Note

Cascade (Kengai) style. The Ponamella pragiliagagnep originates from the island of Hainan and became a popular bonsai tree only recently. The tree grows quickly and has high self-healing abilities, making it particularly well-suited as bonsai, requiring frequent trimming.

Unusual growth emerges from the points where the tree has been pruned, the withered parts of the wood slowly turning black, bestowing the form and details of the tree’s shape with dynamic change. The Ponamella pragiliagagnep enjoys sandy soil and prefers full sun.
