Condition

Both of these pictures have been restored. The canvases have been lined. The surfaces are stable and well stretched. The paint layers are cleaned and varnished, and they certainly present very well. Under ultraviolet light, one can see that there are small isolated spots of retouches in a few places in both pictures. There is no real concentration of retouching, except possibly in the composition with the figure eating a meal where there are some retouches in his waist and right bicep and in the other composition where there is retouching in the bridge of the woman’s nose. All of these retouches are well handled and are not indicative of a condition issue for pictures of this period.
