Condition

This work is heavily painted using a palette knife. The canvas is unlined. The artist has scraped lines in the paint layer and handled the painting quite roughly. This technique has given rise to some cracking, particularly in the corners. However, the paint layer is not unstable. It is clean and although it may not have been varnished there is a light gloss to the surface now which is attractive. At 10 o’clock in the central circle there is a small restoration, but this is the only area of retouching and the work is in very healthy condition overall.
