Maker’s mark of John Wakefield
This tea set comprises of a tea pot, sugar bowl & cream jug. The cream jug and sugar bowl both have the wonderful original gilding to the interior which was used to protect the silver from sugar or cream. The design of this tea pot was a fashionable style in in the late 1830s and the beginning of the reign of Queen Victoria one can see this design being used by other great silversmith of the period.
