Catalogue Note

A Chamberlain's Worcestor maroon-ground ornamental tray of similar shape painted with a view of Buckingham palace is illustrated in Geoffrey A. Godden, Chamberlain-Worcester Porcelain 1788-1852, p. 264, no. 333, where the author indicates that these trays were possibly intended to hold cards. Another example painted with the 'New Houses of Parliament' is illustrated in John Sandon, The Dictionary of Worcester Porcelain, Volume I, 1751-1851, p. 92.
