Description

  • Alexandre Noll
  • Box
  • incised ANoll
  • sycamore and ebony

Provenance

Lee Mindel, New York, 2005

Condition

Overall very good condition. The box with some light surface scratches and minute abrasions consistent with age and gentle use. Light surface dirt consistent with gentle use and concentrated in the recessed areas. The exterior of the cover with a few minor scratches and few minor inherent surface irregularities in the wood as seen in the catalogue illustration. The underside with four felt pads. When viewed in person the colour of the wood is warmer and deeper and the veining is more delicate and richer than on catalogue illustration, forming an elegant contrast with the subtle figuring ebony.
