Condition

Overall very good condition. Please note that the correct depth of the chest of drawers is 21 3/4 inches (55.2 cm). The leather has possibly been sensitively replaced at some point in the work's history. The drawers handles appear to retain their original leather. The leather surfaces with some light scratches over the entire surface, consistent with age and gentle use. The top with some light surface staining, tiny losses and scattered minor scratches consistent with use. The front and two upper drawers with some minor surface staining, concentrated on the proper left portion, that appears to be the result of a liquid. With a second area of discoloration from a liquid to the proper left side of the case measuring half the height of the piece. Some minor indentations and wear of the leather to the edges. Minor lifting to the leather to the proper left side, below the lower and second lower drawers. Minute losses to each corner of the drawers, consistent with age and normal use. The leather portions of the drawer pulls with minor rubbing and scattered minute edge losses. One drawer pull to the top drawer to the proper right side with a break to the leather, that could easily be repaired. The piece appears to retain its original tacks. The patinated metal surfaces with light scratches, light oxidation, minor rubbing to the patina and minor discoloration, consistent with age and normal use. A strong example of Adnet refined leather pieces of furniture.
