Description

painted with a country squire parading his horses, each named above, in a continuous landscape, inscribed beneath the spout AW / Wheston / July 28 / 1823.

Condition

Considerable flaking and touched-up flaking to the enamels. There are two starcracks to the lower body of the jug on the reverse - the first near the terminus of the handle and measuring approximately 1-in. in each of four directions; the second is a crack that runs about 1-in. in two directions and 3-in. in a third, all three originating from an approximate 1/2-in. loss to the body, that is now filled.
