Shrinathji is depicted in the forest of Vrindavana during the Gopastami festival, which rejoices the day the lord becomes a cowherd. He is adored by flywhisk-bearing gopis, cows with cowherds, and milk maids in the foreground.

Condition

Wear to edges where the cloth wraps the stretcher. Abrasions to pigment throughout surface of cloth, visible in the catalog illustration. Losses to pigment along three horizontal fold lines and one vertical fold line, also visible in the catalog illustration. Some areas of light discoloration, consistent with age. Scattered stains, visible in the catalog illustration. Colors generally bright and even, as viewed.
