Condition

Executed on joined paper mounted on board laid down on cradled panel. The board is sound. There is a thin line of craquelure running vertically through the composition, which delineates the join of the paper. There is some slight lifting along this line at the center and towards the top, to the left of the blue flower. The right sheet presents some abrasion towards upper edge which has been inpainted, although it is unclear whether by the artist or another hand. There is a faint crease running diagonally across the lower left corner. Under UV light a thin layer of varnish fluoresces softly, although some faint fluorescence is visible in small strokes of retouching along the lower edge, the join of the paper, and the background at the upper right, as well as a few small dots in the background. The central composition of the jug and flowers remains untouched. This work is in overall good condition.
