Condition
Executed on paper mounted on canvas, which is lined. The surface is incredibly richly textured. There is a network of stable, thin hairline craquelure notably in a long arc which curves from the left of the tower up through the sky to the upper left corner. There is some shrinkage in the thickest areas of impasto with associated specs of paint loss, notably to the yellow figure at lower right and in the background at center left. Under UV light there is a thin layer of varnish which fluoresces softly although thin strokes of retouching are visible to the largest lines of craqueleuere to address localized spots of paint loss. This work is in overall good condition.
