Condition
The canvas is line and lined with wax. There is some scattered craquelure throughout the composition although primarily based in the lighter pigments. The surface retains a richly textured impasto. There are a few dots of gilding from a prior frame at the extreme upper corner. Under ultraviolet light some original pigments fluoresce, likely due to the work being unevenly cleaned at one point. In addition, there appear to be vertical line of inpainting along the left and right eges, likely to address prior frame abrasion. This work is in good condition.
