Condition

Canvas is unlined. The surface retains a lovely texture. There are some small areas of pigment shrinkage, predominately in the lower left quadrant. There are some raised lines in the canvas that suggests that the work may previously have been rolled. Associated with these lines appear occasional pin dots of loss. Under UV light these areas show scattered thin lines and pin dots of inpainting. Also under UV light some original pigments fluoresce, as does an uneven layer of varnish, particularly in the sky to the left of the leftmost building but no further inpainting is apparent. Overall this work is in good condition.
