Condition
The canvas is lined and there is a thick layer of milky varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating. However, UV examination does reveal a few spots of retouching in places, most notably an area to the knees of the figure also associated to some stable craquelure, as well as an area on the sitter's right upper thigh. There are some spots of retouching along the upper and lower extreme edges. Two spots of retouching of circa 10 cm are visible above the signature. Otherwise this work is in fairly good condition.
