Literature
Karin Orchard & Isabel Schulz, Kurt Schwitters, Catalogue raisonné, 1937-1948, vol. III, Hanover, 2006, no. 3496, illustrated p. 610
Condition
Executed on cream wove paper, laid down on the artist's mount which is taped to all four corners to the backing board, and floating in the mount. The collage elements are securely affixed. There is some paper loss to the lower corners of the artist's mount, along with light discolouration in places, and all four extreme edges are slightly unevenly cut. The work is gently time-stained. There are some elements to the collage that are slightly undulation due to the artist's process and application of medium, and some very fine areas are lifting. A few very minor tears, the largest of which is circa 1in. to the upper left and centre left of the image. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition.
