Condition
This work is in very good condition. Dark greenish brown patina. Some spots of accretion in a few places including the figure's under arm area, neck and between the figure's bottocks. Small pindots of patina rubbing on the figure's right buttock and some surface dirt in the deeper crevices, otherwise fine.

Catalogue Note
The Musée Rodin cast at least two examples of the present work in bronze with the Alexis Rudier Foundry between 1935-45, one of which is now in the Musée Rodin's collection. Another nine unnumbered examples were cast between 1967-78 by the Georges Rudier Foundry.
