Condition

The canvas is not lined. There is a layer of varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating, however there does not appear to be any evidence of retouching visible under UV light. There are some fine lines of stable craquelure in places. There is some frame rubbing to the extreme left and lower edges and some minor spots of paint loss in places to the light brown part of the cloak and towards the edges of the lower left quadrant. Otherwise this work is in overall good condition.
