Condition

Oil on paper laid down on canvas. UV examination reveals a fine line of retouching to the white pigment above the lower black form, which may relate to a thin vertical crease. A close inspection reveals a few pinholes to the upper and lower corners, and one to the centre of the lower edge. There is a tiny paper loss with associated pigment loss towards the upper right edge, and a few further tiny medium losses towards the lower right edge, away from the signature. There are some small remnants of silver attached to the work on the lower left edge possibly due to previous framing. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condtion. Colours: Overall fairly accurate in the printed catalogue.
