Catalogue Note

Accompanied by the original Guarantee and box.

The Rolex reference 16550 Explorer II was introduced in 1985 and was available with a white or a black dial. The present lot is one of the examples from the 1980s where the dial has faded to a dark cream color. Additionally, the dial has white gold surrounds for the indexes, and is a 'rail dial' where the 'C' in 'Chronometer' and 'Certified' line up.
