Catalogue Note
Franck Muller debuted the caliber 97 in 1997. The movement combines a perpetual calendar and equation of time with a Grande and Petite Sonnerie with minute repeater. This combination is housed in an impressive 37 mm platinum case with elongated hinged lugs and has a unique, almost vintage, aesthetic. This watch contains such intricate details, incredible design and complication to give the piece an air of an independent watchmaker, an example of a wristwatch made by Franck Muller in the early period of the company. One other example of the caliber 97, set with diamonds, has appeared at auction to date, and this lot presents the opportunity to own a highlight from an illustrious career.
