Catalogue Note

With a Patek Philippe special folder containing Certificate of Origin, image, instruction manual and specification of the movement. Further with a presentation box.

Introduced in 2012 at Baselworld, the new Ref. 5213 minute repeating perpetual calendar with retrograde date wristwatch is powered by calibre R 27 PS QR composed by 515 parts. Fitting in a timeless Officer's-style case with applied Breguet numerals and hands, the brand added a contemporary touch to the classic combination with a slightly larger case diameter of 40.6 mm.

Patek Philippe has always been able to propose different stylistic approaches for the same complications. The Ref. 5213G is generally considered as the evolution version of the Ref. 5013, developed from the tonneau-form case to a rounded case since the update of the reference number.  However, since it's designed in an Officer styled case, it can also be seen as a variation of the Ref. 5016 without the tourbillion function.  Moreover, it offers the same combination of complications as the Ref. 5074 but display perpetual calendar differently by indicating date with retrograde hand. It shows the unrivaled creativity of Patek Philippe as the greatest watch manufacturer.

According to our research, this is the auction debut of Ref. 5213 after its introduction.
