Catalogue Note

Reference 5512 was the first Submariner produced by Rolex with protective crown guards and was regarded as the top end line of diver's watches.

The present watch combines several elements that make it extremely desirable for any watch collector:
- the pointed crown guards which were more suitable to adjusting the time while wearing diving gloves.
- the gilt dial
- the exclamation point dial, which is the combination of a baton index above a dot index at 6
- a beautiful patina of the hands and the indexes which perfectly match with the gilt literature of the dial.

This lot is further distinguished by the case which has not suffered from intensive polishing and thus remains in very good condition, preserving its masculine and sporty presence.
