Catalogue Note

This example, which has circumvented the vigilance of the Swiss manufacture, is one of the very few which bears two different case numbers. Indeed, the case number engraved at 6 (M444218) is different from the number inscribed between the lugs (M444216).

The watch comes with a copy of a letter from Rolex confirming the error in the serial number and offer to replace the original case.

The present lot, in excellent condition, has to be considered as a rare and modern curiosity.
