The movement and chronograph are working at the time of cataloguing. The dial is in good condition. Case with very light scuffs. Overall in very good condition.

In 1972 Audemars Piguet presented the first Royal Oak. Its octagonal case with 8 screws was designed by Gerald Genta. Audemars Piguet chose the name from a series of British Royal Navy ships which in turn had taken the name from the story of King Charles II who hid in the hollow of an Oak tree following the Battle of Worcester in 1651 against the Roundheads. The tree later became known as the "Royal Oak" a symbol of protection, reliability, and strength.
