The brooch and earclips composed of orange fan-shaped shells decorated with cultured pearls, further set with cabochon emeralds and round citrines, all pieces signed Trianon, the brooch numbered 10605, the earclips numbered 10604.

Condition

Both pieces in good condition, with some wear to the gold on the reverse, not apparent when worn. BROOCH: The shell is yellowish orange and intact, with a ribbed texture that also lends a three dimensional sense to the piece. The emeralds are a medium bluish green, moderately to heavily included, several with surface-reaching fractures and one with a significant surface-reaching cavity in the middle of the brooch. The mabé pearls have a silvery body color, medium luster, several with heavily wrinkled skins apparent under magnification. The citrines are a lively orangy and yellowish brown, decorative in quality. EARCLIPS: The shells are a banded orangy and whitish yellow, intact, and ribbed like the brooch. The emeralds are a medium to medium-light bluish green, moderately to heavily included with several examples bearing surface-reaching fractures. The mabé pearls have a silvery gray body color, fair luster, several with wrinkled skins. The citrines are a medium-deep orangy brown and decorative in quality. Length approximately 1 1/4 inches.
