The first clip-brooch set with a carved ebony face, accented by round diamonds of faint brown hue weighing approximately 1.10 carats, the top of the turban centered by a cultured pearl measuring approximately 4.3 mm; the second clip-brooch composed of carved ebony, accented by one oval-shaped ruby, further set with one round ruby and round diamonds, the vest and turban set with numerous seed pearls, with Italian assay mark.

Condition

In good condition. THE FIRST BROOCH (with diamond cloak): The diamonds of a faint brown hue, ranging from VS-SI clarity. The near round pearl with a creamy body color and strong rose and green overtones and very good luster with minor pitting to the skin. The ebony with nice detail to the carving. The gold with minor scratching and discoloration commensurate with wear. THE SECOND BROOCH (with pearl cloak): The diamonds approximately I-J color, predominantly VS clarity. The rubies are a richly saturated, medium slightly purplish red hue, transparent and moderately included. The large pearl is a creamy white body color with strong rose and green overtones, moderate wrinkling to the skin and good luster. The seed pearls are creamy white and decorative in quality. Some evidence of epoxy visible on the frontal section. The ebony with nice detail to the carving. The gold with minor scratching.
