Condition
Overall in very good original condition. This piece was commissioned directly from the artist by the present owner. As seen in the catalogue illustration, the top surface of the case and the two sides are executed utilizing Pozell signature gold foil technique. The foil remains in excellent condition with some minor rubbing, surface scratches and a few minor discolorations consistent with age and use. The proper left of the case with some minor wear and losses to the gold foil adjacent to the wall. This same area with traces of house paint. The same panel with a minor edge crack extending through the height of the case. The walnut door with minor surface scratches, some minor evidence of dryness to the wood and scattered traces of house paint. The interior of the proper right portion of the cabinet is fitted with one adjustable yellow felt cover. The proper left side of the cabinet is fitted with a single shelf and three vertical dividers to the lower two thirds of the cabinet. The interior of both compartments is painted with an orange red that is the same color as the gold foil portion of the case as seen in the catalogue illustration. A wonderful work by Powell showing both his signature sculptural walnut panelling and gold foil technique.
