Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 10 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. The shade leading is exquisitely rendered with fine artistic lines and displays a particularly rich russet brown patina. The base displays an exceptionally rich marbled green and russet brown patina. The bronze surfaces with some occasional surface abrasions, gentle rubbing to the patina, and with a very small and minor area of patina loss to the top cushion (1/8 inch), all consistent with age and gentle use. The top of the cushion with a small area of surface soiling or residue, and the base standard with what appears to be tiny scattered superficial drip marks. The telescoping device on the base functions smoothly, and the base retains its original decorative telescoping knob. Each of the six sockets and paddle switches appear original and undisturbed, and the sockets retain their original early bakelite insulators. With a period finial with closely corresponding patina to the base. A very attractive example of this iconic model displaying a deeply saturated range of cobalt blue hues in the background passages, which brilliantly offset the orange-gold and yellow laburnum blossoms. The lamp presents beautifully in person with strong visual presence.
