  • Distemper on cloth
the wrathful deity Chakrasamvara with ten arms standing in alidhasana with consort Vajravarahi, atop a lotus throne and surrounded by a flaming aureole, with partial Tibetan inscriptions identifying the figures in the upper register, including the deity Vajradhara at upper center, the guardian king of the north Vaishravana with flaming aureole at lower center left and Chaturbhuja Mahakala in flaming aureole at lower center right, consecrated with a large red stupa at recto

Condition

Some wear and moderate accretion overall, consistent with age. Original stitching holes around the border of the painting, now visible without the original mount. Orange less saturated than in catalogue illustration. Consecrated on verso with a red stupa, see additional images on e-catalogue. Exhibited in a temporary frame.
