Description

  • glass, gilding, pine, oak
  • 222cm. high.,106cm. wide; 7ft. 3¼in., 3ft. 5½in.
with an arched cresting centred by a female espagnolette mask above a rectangular bevelled plate within mirrored borders, the whole carved with lambrequins, scallopshells and scrolling foliage

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Very minor chips to gilding as visible from the catalogue photograph. There are some very minor sections of carving missing e.g on the lower section in the top right had corner to the scroll and to the bottom right hand corner scroll. Old minor restorations to breaks in the carving. Construction cracks at joints especially around the central mirror plate which can be filled or left. There are some very minor sections of the mirror plate on the cresting which are missing and can easily be replaced. There is a restored break to the scallopshell to the right of the female mask on the cresting.The cresting is rebacked.
