Description

  • gilding, beechwood
each with an arched rectangular padded back above padded arms and serpentine seat on cabriole legs terminating in scrolled feet, the top and seat-rail carved with foliage and rocaille, the backs incised with foliate decoration; some re-gilding; reblocked

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Joints sound and sturdy. Old very minor marks and chips to gilding commensurate with age and usage. Very attractive detail to carving. The gilding is nicely worn to the red bole in places. The webbing appears to be original. On one the rear-rail looks replaced.
