Description

The polished tourmaline within a floral frame set with cabochon rubies, seed pearls and circular-cut diamonds, suspending a natural pearl drop.

Condition

Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US; this piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Certification of non-Burmese origin is required before the import of rubies into the US. Please see our Important Notices and contact the jewellery department for further information. Accompanied by CISGEM report no. 82181, stating that the pearl drop was found to be natural, saltwater. Accompanied by CISGEM shrot report no.82187, stating that the central stone is tourmaline. Inscribed to reverse G. &. 1964. I. D. B. with a coronet. Natural pearl drop white, medium lustre. Seed pearls white to cream, off round. Rubies with typical inclusions visible under magnification, some chips to surface. Diamonds bright and lively. Scratches and tarnish to mount consistent with age and wear. Traces of solder to later brooch pin. In good condition.
