Seed pearl and diamond necklace, late 19th century

Designed as twenty-two rows of seed pearls to a clasp of foliate design, set with circular-cut and rose diamonds, length of shortest row approximately 385mm, one diamond deficient.

Seed pearls cream, baroque. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.40 - 1.60 carats, estimated colour I-K, estimated clarity SI-I. Clasp fitting secure with safety catch to side. Evidence of solder to side and reverse of clasp. Scratches and tarnish to metal consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
