cast seated in bhadrasana atop a recumbent caparisoned lion, both hands posed at chest level with lotus stems issuing from the palms and rising to the shoulders to support a jewel and scroll, wearing a scarf with long trailing ends draped over the shoulders and layered skirts, richly adorned with beaded jewelry, an elaborate crown encircling the tall chignon crowned with a flaming jewel, all supported on a double lotus plinth

Acquired in China between 1922 and 1930.

Condition

Apart from some age-consistent wear, traces of gilr-lacquer, and minor corrosion, the piece appears to be in good overall condition.
