Description

  • porcelain
of cylindrical form rising to a short wide neck with everted rim, painted with a continuous scene in varying shades of underglaze blue with birds in flight and at rest amongst rockwork and foliage, the flat base unglazed (2)

Christie's London, 29th June 1982, lot  87.

Condition

One vase with a chip to the rim, and the glaze with faint fine brown speckling overall. The other vase, with a shallow chip, a tiny frit and a small hairline crack. There is a small character reading 'min' that was later engraved to the lower body.
