A Small Yellow Jade 'Scholar' Plaque Qing Dynasty, 18th Century

of rectangular form, carved in low relief on one side with a standing scholar and his assistant kneeling by his side, the reverse with an inscription in running script terminating in a seal mark, wan, below a pair of confronting dragons, the translucent stone of an even greenish-yellow tone an aperture pierced at the top between the dragons, the stone of an even yellowish-green colour

The overall condition is very good with the exception of faint general surface wear and an approximately 0.5 cm scratch running vertically to the left of the inscription near the border. The actual colour is greener than the catalogue illustration.
