the ovoid body rising from a spreading foot to a waisted neck with a cup-shaped mouth, the interior and exterior splashed with green, ochre and straw-coloured glazes falling in streaks and stopping irregularly around the lower part of the body, the unglazed rim and foot revealing the buff-coloured body; together with a similarly decorated tray with five cups

Condition

The vase with an area of over-painting to the shoulder of approximately 40mm by 30mm, possibly to consolidate a large glaze flake. Extensive fritting to the rim and numerous small firing cracks and imperfections to the body. Otherwise, in good structural condition. The tray: one 22mm chip and two frits to the rim. Minor firing imperfections, otherwise in good condition. The cups: in good condition, with characteristic firing imperfections.
