of rectangular form, carved with a recumbent mythical beast atop, detailed with a long mane and a bifurcated tail, its front left paw clutching a foliate spray, the translucent amber of an attractive blood-orange tone, Japanese wood box

Condition
The weight is in good condition with the exception of some minor nibbles and cracks to one side of the tail end of the rectangular base and a possible polish to the corner of the other side of the tail end base (as illustrated in the catalogue). Please note that amber is of a slightly darker tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
