Description

  • gilt bronze
the figure wearing a loosely fitting dhoti with an antelope skin and body jewellery and crown with inlaid turquoise and coral, seated in dhyanasana, the principal hands held together in anjalimudra, the secondary hands raised above the shoulders

Condition

The base unsealed, with aperture holes along the rim. The celestial scarf around the body has sections missing. There is a crack along the reverse of the principal right arm, and the secondary right arm may have been broken and restuck. There are small chips and dents across the surface, such as the left toes and the legs of the figure. The left hair tassel is secured, but slightly lose. The finial of the headdress is bent. Possibly later replacements to the inlaid stones. Minor casting flaws. General surface scratchings and gilding loss.
