Description

  • gilt-bronze
cast seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, the hands folded in dhyanamudra supporting a ritual vase, dressed in a dhoti and draped over by a shawl, embellished with beaded jewels, the face with meditative expression, the hair piled up into a high chignon under an elaborate headdress

Condition

Base unsealed. The ritual vase may have been re-attached. Missing inlays. Casting flaws. General surface wear and rubbing to the gilding, particularly to the extremities.
