the buffalo carved recumbent with its head turned gently towards its left, detailed with a pair of striated horns, large round eyes and flaring nostrils suspending a twisted rope, a cheerful boy crouching beside its back and holding a leafy millet spray, the stone of a translucent white tone
Condition
The buffalo group is in excellent condition with the exception of minute chips along the extremities, such as the edges of the leafy millet spray, a small chip on the twisted rope, and another small chip at the bottom edge of the boy's trousers. There are some natural veining to the underside of the carving, the longest measuring approx. 5cm.
