Description

carved recumbent with its legs tucked underneath its body, the head turned towards its right and nestled beside its body, its trunk gently curled upwards and flanked by a pair of tusks, the stone of an opaque celadon-green tone striated with russet-brown inclusions

Condition

The carving is in very good condition. There are some natural flaws and pitting to the underside. It should be noted that the stone is of a darker greyish-green tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
