Concurrent with publishing engraved maps, charts and views Dalrymple also published numerous letterpress nautical instructions, memoirs, observations and related material, ranging from just a few pages up to one hundred. These can sometimes be found bound with the charts, sometimes without, depending on how they were purchased or bound at the time. This is the 'China Sea' volume (no.14) of Dalrymple's 'Memoirs and Charts' publishing exercise undertaken for the Admiralty in 1806 (see introduction).
