Catalogue Note

An important account written from observations made while Barrow was on the staff of Lord Macartney during the first British occupation. Barrow gives a good description of the country as seen on several journeys to Graaf Reinet, Namaqualand and Algoa Bay, together with opinions of the inhabitants.
